COOLbokie Gathering 2017

16 September 2017

Hi Everyone,

A date for your diaries  -  SATURDAY 16 SEPTEMBER  -  This is the day that Culbokie will become the centre of fun and activity for all around the Black Isle and beyond.

The teenagers over the past five years have provided us with an annual event which we're now taking to new heights, and lengths. It's now all day with a football tournament (for all Black Isle primary school children) and the community market in the morning both of which will be attracting people from all around.  A Pipe Band march along the main street will herald the start of the afternoon proceedings at the school. More street fun in the evening will see an Orcadian Strip the Willow convey everyone towards the Culbokie Inn for those who then need their thirsts quenched (happy hour is planned), and appetites satisfied.

The teenagers still have a key role by leading a Come and Try Highland Games for Black Isle primary school children all afternoon at the school. There's activity for all including a Petanque tournament to pit the 9 year olds against the 90 year olds and all ages in between, Tug of War, Carpool Karaoke and more. For those of a quieter disposition, inside the school is a whole afternoon programme of instrumental (brass, string, wind) and vocal music with a nostalgic element for our senior citizens, including a tea dance.

The day of course wouldn't be complete without a host of stalls for goods and fun and plenty of food and drink to keep you going.

We are very grateful to our sponsor, Cromarty Firth Wireless Networks Ltd, who are not only providing financial support but will be there on the day to provide us with a wi fi hotspot.

So do please put this date in your diary and let us know what you would like to see added to the programme. We have time and space to respond and ambition to match.
