Our annual event enabling you to get answers to all your gardening questions and acquire seeds for the 2018 season.  Panelists this year are Dan Ross, from Fearniewell Croft (vegetables), Desmond Kelly from Inverness (fruit) and JJ Gladwin from Allangrange House (flowers and shrubs).  We have it all covered!  All welcome - members and non members - and chat and refreshments afterwards.

After the event - an impression of GQT 2018 from Sue Howard

If I hadn’t said I’d give Wendy a lift I might well have backed out of Friday night’s experience - it was still snowing as I left home. But what I would have missed! I came back bouncing.

Bouncing with new ideas for my planting? Not at all - I’m not a gardener. So what thrilled me and made me so thankful that I had offered that lift to Wendy?

G - stands for grins - the number of smiling faces around Tore Village Hall. An atmosphere of humour and cooperation. A panel of three with significant and varied experience who became as one in their intrinsic desire to share whatever knowledge was relevant to the audience. All were united in their passion for growing and desire to honour the Earth/earth. The bonhomie of this panel opened the way for a non-stop flow of questions. No one was intimidated.

Q - stands for questioning. Everyone in the room knew that they didn’t know everything. Panel and people alike were living the questions into new or improved ways of creating beauty and sustenance. I was especially moved by a question from an elderly gentleman who had just arrived on The Black Isle and wanted to get his new garden underway - a task that was not going to be physically easy - but no thought of giving up growing and creating!

T - obviously for Transition! Grins and questions are the stuff of sustainable futures. Cooperation not competition opens new vistas. Sharing not self interest opens doors for each other - seen in the seed swop frenzy!

So you maybe can see why I came back buzzing - AND - there was lots of yummy cakes!!!
