I have been sent details of the film show at Eden Court on Monday 30 May. Take One Action are behind this venture which will include a Q&A with the film's Director. The topic is very much what TBI needs to be aware of.

Dear friends in the Inverness area,

Please find details below of an acclaimed and inspiring film screening + director Q&A coming to Eden Court on Monday 30th May, 8pm.

Take One Action has limited networks in Inverness, but this is fantastic film and opportunity to engage people with a great film and issues and opportunities around environmental sustainability as part of Take One Action's Green Shoots strand.

We would be really grateful if you could therefore forward this to your friends, networks, church groups, colleagues, union, colleges, etc. that you think might enjoy and be resourced by this event.

Many thanks.

THE PIPE - Ireland, 2010
Plus director Q&A at Eden Court, Mon 30 May, 8pm

Reviews: “stirring… astute… first-rate” Variety / "provocative... challenging... engrossing" Screen Daily / "compelling... startlingly honest" Time Out

Synopsis: This gripping and beautifully-shot film tells the real-life (and ongoing) story of Shell UK’s plans to lay a giant, high-pressure gas pipe through the town and fishing waters around Rossport, County Mayo, to a new inland refinery. When the residents, farmers and fishermen of Rossport stand up to oppose the project, fearing the risks of pollution and the threat to traditional economic activities, the film plunges us into the frightening and at times life-threatening clashes between protestors and police at sea and on land, and between locals themselves, begging the question: what responsibility do government and big energy have to the communities they profit from?

Event: this screening at Eden Court will be followed by a Q&A with acclaimed director Richie O'Donnell, hosted by Take One Action: Scotland's global action cinema project celebrating the people and movies that are changing the world.
