Invitation to complete Community Planning survey

10 December 2016

Ferintosh Community Council has recently invited its residents to complete a community planning survey being promoted by the NHS.  Other community councils may also have brought the survey to the attention of their residents, but in any case it seems to be a useful information-gathering exercise deserving as much publicity as possible.  See below for links to background information and the survey tool.

Bruce Morrison, chair of Ferintosh CC, writes:

This survey has come about because of new legislation that is creating Community Partnerships (these are more localised than the existing Community Planning Partnerships). For more on Community Planning please link to   http://www.gov.scot/Topics/Government/PublicServiceReform/CP. The Community Partnerships are in the process of being set up and they are obliged to reach out to community bodies such as ourselves and to residents.

In an email to community councils and other bodies, Christopher Arnold, NHS HIghland District Manager, Mid & East Ross Districts (07971 460570), says:

I am sure you are aware of the new community empowerment legislation and the new community partnerships across Highland are starting to meet and engage.  For the Mid Ross partnership we are looking to understand the local community priorities to support the partnership in deciding on what areas it should start to focus on.  We have initially decided to utilise the Place Support Tool for this information gathering. . .

I would like to try and spread this as far and wide as possible to and gather as many responses as possible for me to take back to the partnership at the end of January to support discussions about our initial focus area(s).

The survey tool can be completed electronically online at  http://www.placestandard.scot/#/home  or there is an option on the same site to download a .pdf version and complete it on paper.
