Find out about Fracking and have your say

New information and links on website

For those of you who went to Iain Stewart's talk 'To Frack or not to Frack' on Monday and came away still not fully clear about the rights and wrongs of the issue, and even more for those who are interested in the subject but didn't get to the talk, we have updated the  Environment / Fracking  page on the site with information and links about the current situation in Scotland, and particularly about the currently ongoing Scottish Government consultation which invites opinions about fracking from individuals and groups by 31 May.

The Scottish Government emphasises that it wishes to make a 'fully evidence based' assessment of the issue when it comes to decide, after a vote in Parliament later this year, what its policy on 'Unconventional Oil and Gas' (UOG) will be.  To assist in this it commissioned an independent experts' report and a number of special project reports on particular topics, and you can find links to these on our Fracking page.

As some of the links between the different government documents are a bit circular, we have provided a shortcut so that when you feel you are ready to express your opinons (as we would encourage you to do), you can go straight to the very open-ended questionnaire and have your say.  And to get you started here is a quicklink to the Environment / Fracking page.
