Potato Day 2017

TBI's 7th Potato Day will be held on Saturday 4th March at North Kessock Village Hall.

There will be two sessions, from 11.30 - 1.00 and 1.30 - 3.00, with the usual wide range of seed potato varieties on sale at 15p per tuber.  Please bring your own bags.

Admission is £1.00, TBI members and under-16s free.  Refreshments - soup and rolls, tea, coffee and cakes - will be available all day.

Any potatoes remaining after our event will be on sale at subsequent Black Isle Community Markets.

The final version of this year's varieties list is available to view or download here.  and a full descriptive list with information and recommendations for each variety is also available.  It would be a good idea to download and print the lists to be sure of having a copy in your hands on the day.

There is also a Potato Day poster, skilfully prepared as usual by Wendy, and the more people who are able to display this or pass it around their friends the more successful the event will be.  There are two versions, one 2xA5 on an A4 sheet, and one a full A4 sheet, both as .pdf files.  Please download, print and circulate.

Volunteers needed

We are still looking for volunteers to help out on the day, before, after and during the sessions in the hall,  to make our annual Potato Day as successful and good fun as it usually is.

We’ll need folk from early in the morning (maybe 8/ 8.30 am onwards) to about 4.30 in the afternoon. Any time you can give at all would be greatly appreciated.

If you’re able to help this year, please get in touch with Julie Gibson (see below), and  if you can give an indication of time of the day and for how long that would be really helpful for creating a working rota.

If you can't manage on the day, please download and print the poster, display it if you can and pass it around your friends and neighbours to spread the word.

Its YOU - the volunteers - that make the day a success.

To offer help or for more information please ring Julie Gibson on 07507 681045

or email  food@transitionblackisle.org
