BIHS Spring Plant Sale

28 May 2022, Starts: 10:30, Ends: 13:00

Saturday 28 May   10.30 - 1.00
outside the  Gordon Memorial Hall    Rosemarkie

The Black Isle Horticultural Society will hold its Spring Plant Sale on 28 May.  BIHS Secretary Graham Sullivan has sent an update on this event

Our Plant Sale last year in Rosemarkie was very successful, with many people coming along to buy a wide range of plants, so we’re following the same format this year. It will still be an outdoors event, but we won’t need to have the same Covid safeguards in place. This is a chance to buy plants grown locally by interested gardeners, so as well as common ones, you’ll be able to find some special plants, including herbaceous, alpines, wild flowers to make your own meadow, native trees, currant and gooseberry bushes, tomatoes  for the greenhouse, and some unusual vegetables. As we did last year, we’ll put  a list of plants available on our website about 10 days before the Sale.

The sale is an important fund-raising event for the Society, and if you can help by donating any plants as well as coming along to buy some, that will be very much appreciated. It would be helpful if you could let us know in advance ( or 07486 660544) if you’re bringing plants, so we can make arrangements. If you’re able to, it’s also really helpful if you can label plants that you bring along- it doesn’t have to be fancy, labels made from strips cut off a yogurt pot are fine, and writing the name on a strip of masking tape stuck to the pot works as well.

Also, if you know someone who would be interested in the sale but isn’t online, please let them know about it.

You can find more details on our regularly updated Facebook page or on our website
