'Thinking of keeping backyard poultry ?'

Cost: by donation (suggest £5-£10 per person)
Workshop leader - Caroline Mackenzie
Caroline has kept poultry for 9 years, most of what she knows has been from hands on experience, but also books, online, vets and other poultry keepers. The workshop is very relaxed, providing information and chicken handling for the complete beginner.
Bring questions and concerns but we plan to cover :
- Chicken types- bantam, large fowl, laying birds, POL (point of lay), meat birds, broody birds, cockerels !
- Chicken husbandry - housing, coop and run, nutrition - feed, grit, shell, treats; handling; hygiene; health; lifecycle - hatching, growing, laying, moulting, aging
- What about the garden !
