A guided tour of the exhibition LOST with artist Julia Barton followed by discussion and workshops on the theme of plastic pollution.

Artist Julia Barton will lead a tour around the LOST exhibition ** and demonstrate the Ocean Plastic Skipping Ropes she and the event collaborators are making. This will be followed by presentations from Julien Moreau from Plastic@Bay, Durness, who will share their idea for Decentralised Community Recycling in the Highlands, and Andy MacVicar from GreenHive, Nairn, who will discuss setting up the community enterprise project at Green Hive Workshop based around craft recycling of different types of plastic and other waste streams in Nairn.

** About the LOST exhibition at Eden Court
Eden Court is collaborating with artist Julia Barton, continuing the COP26 #ClimateCrisis story by showing LOST, an immersive Climate Action Exhibition at Eden Court, May 15 – June 12 2022.
The exhibition will feature a collection of 18 #LitterCUBES. Julia and project volunteers collected thousands of pieces of beach litter plastic, which they stitched and wove together to make each cube during 5 public events held in coastal communities around Scotland. A film projection will play throughout illustrating the dripping-away of 100 litres of oil, visually representing the lost energy embodied in the #LitterCUBES.
Julia aims to show how plastic pollution directly contributes to our Climate Crisis. Her work highlights the lost energy that Plastic Marine Litter represents in terms of litres of oil, making the often un-seen or misunderstood links to fossil fuels.
