- organisation:
- Transition Black Isle
03 December 2024, Starts: 18:45
Event Details:
Date: Tuesday, December 3rd Time: 6:45 PM Location: The Muir Hub
We'll be screening the thought-provoking film "Six Inches of Soil," which delves into the revolution underground. It's a fantastic opportunity to come together, enjoy a great film, and discuss the themes of soil and sustainability.
We are also thrilled to have Alex Davies joining us for the evening. Alex, who many of you may know from his work with the land, will be giving a talk and q&a session during the event. We will also hear examples of initiatives local communities have embarked upon from the Highland Good Food Partnership and the Highland Community Waste Partnership.
The event is free, but we are taking bookings as seats are limited: Book Tickets
Controversy around 'Six Inches of Soil'
When the film was launched earlier this year (2024) organisations and individuals including environmental activist and Guardian columnist George Monbiot criticised the film for including misleading data about the carbon footprint of a small scale beef farm. We posted a news item about this when the film was shown at Eden Court in April.
