As far as I can make it out, the Westminster Government wants local folk to take over the functions of government. The whole idea seems a bit unclear, and maybe that is an opportunity. For instance, I saw a letter in today's Independent from a chap from the Bridport Peace and Justice Group, suggesting they would be prepared to take over the running of the Ministry of Defence. I'm sure there are things we could do better than the government - but we'll need to move fast, before they work out what they're talking about. Anyone got any particular govt. function they think we could take over?

All of them, LOL.

Similar thoughts occured to me, Martin, though I be skeptic of most things govt. We should keep close eyes on this one and perhaps begin the process by involvement in community councils and encourage other community councillors to become involved in TBI. Heck, that could be a fair start at local governance when TSHTF.

More soonish, limited onlineness presently.
