The IPCC report suggested that gas may be a useful transition fuel to a low carbon future but even if you site conventional rather than extremely dubious fracked gas what is often overlooked is how much leaks in the process and methane is at least 20 times more powerful a greenhouse gas than CO2.

The idea that we have time for a "transition fuel" is beyond dangerous.
Besides, another decade to build the power stations, in which time production from the North Sea will decline, making us even more dependent on imports. The tensions in Ukraine should have us questioning that kind of thinking, given that the gas pipeline comes to us through there.
There are only 2 options, renewables or no electricity.
