Good Food and Waste Incineration
02 July 2022
Two topics which are perhaps not the best bedfellows, but both the subject of Scottish Parliament and Government activity recently.
On Tuesday 15 June the Government's Good Food Nation bill passed its final parliamentary stage unopposed and will become law. For more information and links see Food & Growing / Highland Council and Scottish Government food policy > Good Food Nation.
On the following day the Scottish Government published its response to the review of waste incineration requirement and provision which it commissioned last year from Dr Colin Church. It seems to have accepted all his recommendations. More at

Another aspect of waste incineration is its potential for generating electricity, which Highland Council has been exploring.
