What the Frack?
- organisation:
- Transition Black Isle
19 May 2017, Starts: 19:30, Ends: 21:00
Edie Goodwin, a teenager from the Borders, brings her one-woman play about fracking, and how individuals can make a difference, to the Black Isle.
Transition Black Isle is delighted to be able to help arrange a local performance of this play. Edie explained it to us: "In Scotland we have a choice. From February to May a public consultation is being held over the future of fracking in Scotland. There are three options - we can choose to say no, can choose to say yes, or we can choose to do nothing and decide that it's up to other people. This may not be a vote but it's an opportunity and how we use it is our choice. I decided that my contribution to help people engage in the debate would be in the form of theatre. “What the Frack?” is a play exploring arguments surrounding fracking, followed by a presentation, opportunity to ask questions and engage in democracy. Touring around Scotland it aims to bring new voices to the debate using theatre to make accessible arguments sometimes reserved for placards, petitions, and politicians - ensuring everyone gets a say in their future."
Space is very limited - 36 seats only - so book early. There's no fixed charge - watch the performance and then donate whatever you think is a reasonable amount.
