Regenerative farm and forest walk - Achpopuli and Abriachan
15 September 2023, Starts: 13:00, Ends: 16:30
Friday 15 September 1.00 - 4.30 Achpopuli Farm IV3 8LB
Join us for a visit to Achpopuli Farm, where Landworkers' Alliance member Katharine Sharp uses agroecological farming methods to produce meat, eggs, wool crafts and tallow skin care products which are sold locally.
They are in the early stages of implementing an agroforestry system at Achpopuli Farm, having planted hedges, wood pasture and shelter belts, alongside holistic grazing with 100% pasture-fed sheep and geese.
We’ll also have a walk through Abriachan forest which has been managed by Abriachan Forest Trust since a community buy-out in 1998. You’ll get to see their outdoor classroom, nursery, and some areas of continuous cover forestry and natural regeneration.
