The SEAM Centre at Inverness College has a number of renewable energy courses taking place between now and the end of term in June.

For installers, we have BPEC accredited courses for Heat Pumps, Biomass, Solar Hot Water and Solar PV. It is worth noting that we are the only BPEC biomass training course in Scotland and the practical facilities for training in all these technologies are highly regarded by candidates and industry.

We also have a Renewable Energy Awareness course which gives an excellent overview of different micro-renewable energy technologies and an understanding of their advantages and disadvantages, and the funding support for them. This course is ideal for home-owners, community groups, architects, planners and energy advisors wanting to know more about these renewable energy systems.

All these courses are eligible for Individual Learning Account (ILA) funding if you meet the criteria. This means you could complete the Renewable Energy Awareness course at no cost, and the other courses at a significantly reduced price. There is also a Low Carbon Skills Fund which allows employers to reclaim 50% of training costs for renewable energy courses.

26-27 April - Solar Hot Water
30 April - 4 May - Biomass
15 - 16 May - Renewable Energy Awareness
22 - 23 May - Heat Pumps
29 - 31 May - Solar PV
11 - 15 June - Biomass
