Black Isle OnOffer a Cycling Success Story

First Black Isle On-Offer is a Cycling Success Story

On Sunday 26th October the inaugural Black Isle On-Offer attracted 57 cyclists to "Bike the Best of Both Worlds" and take up the challenge of an on and off-road event. Despite the tail-end of Hurricane Gonzales bringing a stiff wind, some fast times were achieved and the unusual format of the event got great feedback.

The On-Offer was organised by Black Isle Bicycles to showcase the Black Isle as a   great place for both on and off road cycling.  BIB's Enterprise Manager, Giles Makins, said:

"We're delighted with how the day went, and would like to say a huge thank you to High Life Highland, our generous sponsors EcoVentures and the Cromarty Brewery, Steve Macdonald of Square Wheels and Ben Wyvis Cycling Club who helped with equipment, our sister project Million Miles, the Forestry Commission, Highland Council, and to all those wonderful local businesses who donated prizes: Square Wheels, Alpine Bikes, SportsDirect, Bad Girl Bakery, WildWoodz and Orange Fox Bikes.

"I'd also like to say a special thank you to our team of marshals who did a great job on a cold and blustery day - good marshalling is a crucial part of a safe and enjoyable event, and we absolutely couldn't have done it without them."
