March 2018 Liftshare 20 years old this year
Liftshare, the journey sharing website organisation which we adopted for our Million Miles project, is 20 years old this year and there will no doubt be birthday celebrations in due course. It is good to know that the folk who joined our Million Miles Liftshare scheme on the Black Isle and beyond can still access this facility. Hitrans established HITRAVEL last year and took over all the members who had joined our website so liftsharing in the area can continue for at least another 20 years contributing to financial savings for the individual and carbon reduction for the environment.
November 2017 New structure for Highland Liftshare
When Highland Liftshare was set up during the Million Miles project, using the national 'Liftshare' organisation, other local authorities in the Highlands and Islands promoted lift sharing through a different provider. Now the five local authority menbers of HITRANS (Highlands and Islands Transport Partnership) have joined together to fund a new organisation and website under the 'Hitravel' banner.
The good news is that the old organisation and website has been incorporated into the new one, and if you are registered with Highland Liftshare, you should now sign in at www.hitravel.liftshare.com rather than www.highland.liftshare.com. (Look for the 'Sign in' button at the top of the page).
