Black Isle Bicycles
Black Isle Bicycles is a company owned by Transition Black Isle which received start-up funding from the Coastal Communities Fund in March 2014. Black Isle Bicycles offers bike hire through partners on the Black Isle. We have hybrid bikes which will take you on or off road in comfort and also have some electric assist bikes.
*August 2024
Bicycle hire is currently suspended, and the future of the operation is being reviewed. It is expected to re-open with new partners and in conjunction with a Black Isle 'Library of things' which is under development.
The original funding to Black Isle Bicycles allowed the preparation of The Black Isle Active Travel Map now in its fourth Edition, and the creation of the Beauly Firth Cycle Loop.

Black Isle Bicycles' staff and electric bikes feature in this article by Paula McGuire in 'The National' - the paper that supports Scottish Independence and is well worth looking at quite apart from this BIB/TBI connection.
