elderberry and apple
Added by Anne Thomas on 13 October 2017
Elderberries can be used pretty much the same way as blackcurrants or blackberries. If you use a fork it is easy to quickly remove the berries. They are a bit juicier and apparently are full of vitamins. You probably need about a quarter elderberry to apple ratio and a little bit of honey to taste as they are not as sweet as blackcurrants. Use in recipes such as crumble, charlotte, muffins or just sprinkle a few into your porridge.
